While The Waterfront Fish Bar is a popular choice, some patrons mention occasionally long wait times, particularly during peak seasons. On busy holidays, it's not unusual to see a queue stretching out the door, which can deter those looking for a quick meal. Some reviews touch on the limited indoor seating, urging potential diners to consider their options and perhaps plan to eat outside or take away. A few visitors seek a more extensive menu, wishing for additional varieties beyond the classic favorites. However, these complaints are often overshadowed by the overall positive dining experience, emphasizing that patience is rewarded with delicious food.
Been using this fish bar for years and I am always pleased with the quality, service and prices. On busy days they have their own seating and on quiet days they dont put their tables out but there are plenty of benches around near by. Always friendly and efficient. Food always tastes good and it's hot. Good portion size and excellent prices for the sea front! Cheaper than some fish & chip shops in towns. I was queuing for half an hour on Bank holiday Monday, well worth the wait, but just to warn everyone, sometimes there is a very long wait.
The Waterfront Fish Bar. First visit to this fish bar. Great service when ordering my fish and chips. Food served in good time and great standards. Fish was a great size, chips was cut well. The fish passed the crunch test and nice white cod. Chips was crispy and fluffy. Great price and just right size for a meal for the price. When in the area next I will return. Recommend.
Absolutely delicious, massive portions, cheap price, proper seaside food and amazing service, new favourite when we visit
After being let down with places I bookmarked to go for lunch as they weren't open, we came across this place as there were a lot of people buying from there. It was just exactly what we wanted: Cod & Chips for £7.95. Big portion, freshly made and at reasonable price. We made use of the sunny weather and sat outside. A lot of spaces to sit to enjoy it. Recommended.
They sell fish separately so fish and chips and another piece of fish is plenty for 2 people. Perfectly cooked fish with crispy batter throughout the whole fish. No soggy inside batter like lots of places. Gorgeous chips too. Happy to fill up our dogs water bottle as she was tired after playing on the beach. Very efficient and a sunny spot on the tables outside. Will visit again for sure.
